Families and migration. Rural Perspectives is a project that includes a theater workshop for teenagers in Telciu and the production of a documentary theater show, which will have its premiere in Telciu and will be toured in 4 cities in the country. The documentation that underlies the play was made in the residences Culese din Telciu 2019, by Petro Ionescu and Raul Coldea, creators of this year’s show.
The local community will be actively involved in the production of the show, both through the theater workshop and by selecting three participants from the workshop, who will assist the entire production process of the show.
The workshop, facilitated by Petro Ionescu and Raul Coldea, will consist of daily meetings, for about 10 days, in which the themes of the project will be addressed through specific exercises of writing, documentation and percussion. The research, the completion of the performance text, the rehearsals and the presentation of the show in Telciu and in the partner spaces, aim to contribute to the consolidation of the critical discourse among the participants and to the deep understanding of the historical and socio-economic phenomena that have shaped and reconfigured the community throughout time.
The project aims to familiarize the local public with socio-cultural and artistic approaches that investigate issues such as family, migration, personal history related to the family context.
The project is co-funded by the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN). The project does not necessarily represent the position of AFCN. AFCN is not responsible for the content of the project or the way the project results can be used. This is entirely the responsibility of the beneficiary of the funding.
